Tamiya Supra Veilside
2006-08-06
Well at last some progress. I redesigned the front end
a bit.. The old one was not enough streamlined. And it
would actually have reduced the speed capabilities. So
the bottom part of the air inlet have been cutaway and
levelled with the spoiler. The rear has also been modified.
The original Supra wing and the bodywork underneath the
wing on the hatch, have been modified to give more down
force than original, hard to se in the pics though.
I have also bought a Sard Supra witch I am going to take
the interior from. But of curse it will be a more original
looking interior than the full racing one.
This is a slow project but I am getting there.
Made two hood vents, did also make a new rear end.
If you look behind the rear wheel you can see that
there is an edge starting right behind the wheel and
joins the original rear further back, hard to se in
the photo though.
More as it happens.
I have made some more progress on this beauty
but there is a long way to go still. I have also
started on the engine.. but no pics yet..
I started this project couple of weeks ago.
So far I have not used any putty so its just styrene.
My idea for this project is to build it with Veilside side
skirts and rear skirts and then rebuild the front a bit.
I do not want it to be a tuner with a flashy paint job or
bling wheels. Just a pure race car with looks.
More to follow!
